In this series of self-portraits, gravity and lightness merge into a poetic contradiction. I photograph myself in the midst of urban architecture – but instead of subordinating myself to the rigid lines of the city, I seem to transcend them. Without digital manipulation, solely through perspective, timing and physical effort, the illusion of flying is created: a foot detaches itself from the ground, arms become wings, the horizon tilts. Each photo is a single exposure – captured in an unaltered moment. The illusion is created by the precise choreography of body, camera and urban space.

The images play with the “dream of flying” as a universal longing – but they refuse to be escapist. The city remains visible: rough facades, grids, shadows. This is not about escape, but about a transformation of the reality. The viewer wonders: Is this a leap? A fall? Or the moment when everything becomes possible?

The work is reminiscent of the surreal urban scenes of René Magritte, combined with the athletic poetry of Philippe Halsman’s “Jumpology” portraits – but with a contemporary, minimalist twist.

In my works, I see architecture not as a limitation, but as a springboard – the body dances against gravity, not with it, and symbolizes a call to each individual to find and follow their own path. Here, the age-old dream of flying is not digitally simulated, but lived with skin and hair: every picture is proof that magic can be created through perspective, timing and pure will. My pictures are more than an optical illusion – they are a call to stretch one’s own reality and shout out into the world – “You can live your Dream”!
